babyballet® Brookvale
babyballet® is a fun, award-winning pre-school dance program for girls and boys from 6 months to 4 years.
Tots (6 – 18 months), Tinies (18 months – 3 years), Movers and Tap (3 – 4 years). With a real focus on learning through play and the imagination, the unique babyballet® syllabus offers the fundamentals of ballet, jazz and tap where every child can build their confidence and skills in dance as their first steps to learning their basic dance technique.
It also develops key developmental areas such as learning manners, discipline and respect while developing, coordination, musicality, balance, posture, and rhythm.
Once our babyballet® students have graduated from the Movers class they will transition into our after-school classes and join our Tempo Tribe where they can further their ballet training with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Pre-Primary ballet syllabus or branch out into a variety of different genres offered in our Petites & Junior Programs.
Katie Strugnell

Katie started dancing from the age of 5 years old and has fallen in love with the performing arts ever since. Growing up on the Northern Beaches, Katie has trained at multiple local dance studios throughout her school years, receiving extensive training in all styles.
She found her love for teaching during her senior year of high school, as she taught and helped the school’s dance ensemble as Performing Arts Captain. Katie loves teaching preschool age dancers and finds so much joy in nurturing their first steps and is looking forward to providing her babyballet stars with a magical experience at each class.
Recently, Katie has graduated from Ed5International full time receiving an advanced Diploma in Performing Arts and looks forward to sharing her knowledge and love for the arts with our students at Tempo Red.
Tots (6-18 months)
The Tots class is a magical musical experience for parents/carers and babies and young toddlers, to enjoy together.
Using a combination of movement, music and props/toys, the Tots class is a great way to enhance your babies physical, communication and social/emotional development. The class provides a stimulating yet gentle introduction to song and dance, improving body awareness and self-control.
Tinies (18months-3years)
The Tinies class introduces little ones to the basics of ballet using movement, play and song.
babyballet Tinies develop their physical and communication skills in a fun-filled, lively environment. The children engage in the wonderful music and learn the basics of movement and expressing themselves with their parent or carer by their side.
The teacher encourages interaction between the class and encourages each child to participate at their own speed. Tinies classes spark the imagination of every babyballet star and teach counting, colours, and coordination.
Movers & Tap (3-4years)
The babyballet Movers classes encourage preschool children to combine their imaginations with dance using movement and song.
The preschool years are crucial in your little one’s development. Our Movers class focuses on the further physical development of your child through dance in combination with their use of imaginative storytelling.
The Movers class is more than just dancing – it also gives children the chance to learn how to behave appropriately by responding positively to both teacher and the other children in the class.
Our Movers classes are also combined with Tap!
Tappers (3+ years)
Our preschool age tap dancing class is combined with our Movers class and is perfect for younger children who also like to make noise in their tap shoes!
For children aged 3 and above, this dynamic, upbeat part of our movers class teaches little ones basic tap steps learning rhythms and beats accompanied by catchy music and songs.
With a real focus on learning through play and the imagination, the unique babyballet® syllabus offers so much more where every child can build their confidence and skills in dance.

Just wanted to say how much fun Annabelle had at baby ballet today. We enjoyed the online classes- but being back at the studio brought her so much joy... we were up at 4:30 ready to go to the studio with the big girls ? Congratulations on reopening and doing everything to keep us connected during the forced shut down period.

The school runs workshops across all styles of dance and musical theatre. Students and other dancers from around the area are given exciting opportunities to expand their knowledge of dance and express their creativity outside of regular classes. The director Diana Sakaris is highly experienced in dance and teaching, creating a professional yet supportive and fun environment for all teachers and students. Miss Di’s warm and loving nature means the studios are more than just a school but a second home where students can be nurtured while they grow as people, as well as artists.
