Tempo Red Academy

We inspire Creativity, build strong Technique and ignite Passion for the performing arts.

We were recently nominated for the 2020 local business awards on the Northern Beaches for our excellence in service and experience as voted by our lovely students and their parents.

Tempo Red was developed and redirected by Diana Sakaris who was previously the Head of Department of Babies and Tiny Tots at Brent Street Studios. Diana took over Tempo Red in 2008 and in 2011 moved into brand new state of the art studios in Brookvale designed with fully sprung floors, full mirrors, bars and a great sound system to accommodate the growing needs of the school.

Classes are run during the school term six days a week, offering a wide variety of dance genres for children, both girls and boys, with our babyballet® program starting from the tender age of 18 months old.

Our RAD Ballet exams are held mid-year and our results are of an excellent standard.

We also provide opportunities for students interested in extending themselves through our Performance & Eisteddfod Youth Company program and auditions for this are held throughout the year.

Our Youth Company students now represent TEMPO RED at many Eisteddfods and events locally and throughout Sydney. Our eisteddfod season consists of competitions in both group and solo categories.

We also perform at charity events (Stars of the Beaches- Dance for Cancer), local festivals, (St Kierans Family Fun day), Shopping Centres: Warringah Mall (Westfield’s) & Warriewood Shopping Centre as well as the Sydney Royal Easter Show.

All teachers at Tempo Red have been screened and have a valid and current Working with Children Check.

Our Mission ,Vision and Values

We encourage hard work, integrity and diversity. A safe place for healthy self-expression.

Mission

We always strive to provide the most dedicated and experienced teachers who share a similar mentality to the Director, nurturing each student’s unique gift of talent and creativity. We encourage our students to achieve their fullest potential and support them as they grow artistically and holistically developing into well rounded individuals with a strong foundation in the Performing Arts.

Our Vision, Values and Beliefs

At Tempo Red our vision reflects our belief that our dance environment is unique in that we ensure that our students are surrounded by a positive environment with good values, discipline and a large focus on empowering each individual to be the best they can be!

We encourage hard work, integrity and diversity. A safe place for healthy self-expression.

We achieve this through our teaching techniques and programs that help build confidence through healthy and safe exercising and teaching students to embrace their individuality.

We have a strong ethos on treating oneself and others with respect, a zero tolerance towards bullying or any nastiness from students, parents or staff, which creates a supportive and family vibe which results in a loving positive energy flowing through our studios.

Dance has its own body of knowledge and at Tempo Red we pride ourselves at developing the complete dancer. We invest time into our individual dancers and help develop their skills as well as educate them for life. Our students are offered opportunities that develop their artistic and aesthetic education as well as establishing long life practices on good health for mind body and spirit which provides a strong higher self.

Our school firmly believes that success isn’t measured by a trophy. We believe in working together to achieve our goals. We encourage our students to not compare themselves with one another but to challenge their own individual abilities and encourage an environment that is purely empowered by PASSION.

Just wanted to say how much fun Annabelle had at baby ballet today. We enjoyed the online classes- but being back at the studio brought her so much joy... we were up at 4:30 ready to go to the studio with the big girls ? Congratulations on reopening and doing everything to keep us connected during the forced shut down period.

The school runs workshops across all styles of dance and musical theatre. Students and other dancers from around the area are given exciting opportunities to expand their knowledge of dance and express their creativity outside of regular classes. The director Diana Sakaris is highly experienced in dance and teaching, creating a professional yet supportive and fun environment for all teachers and students. Miss Di’s warm and loving nature means the studios are more than just a school but a second home where students can be nurtured while they grow as people, as well as artists.

My daughter Jessie loves putting on her favourite tutu each week, singing and dancing around with Twinkle in her babyballet class. The lessons are lots of fun and she loves the mix of ballet and tap. The classes are wonderfully supportive, talented teachers and gives us a lovely opportunity to meet new mums and the kids meet new friends!

My daughter has only been at Tempo Red for two terms but in that time her dance skill and ability has grown exponentially as has her self-confidence. This is due to the passionate, professional staff, very talented, experienced teachers and a culture that fosters support and encouragement between the kids. From day one the girls in Zivas’ class took her under their wing and welcomed her.
